A Simple Homemade Treat My Kids Ask For Again and Again
It all started one afternoon when my kids were enjoying fresh cookies and asked the question every parent hears sooner or later:
“Can we have chocolate milk with these?”
Since we make our own maple syrup and homemade vanilla, I already knew exactly where I wanted to start. Those two ingredients bring such incredible flavor to homemade recipes. The maple syrup adds just the right natural sweetness, while the vanilla gives that familiar rich flavor that makes homemade chocolate milk taste like the classic version kids love.
I started whisking together cocoa powder, fresh goat milk, maple syrup, a generous splash of vanilla, and then a little cream... tweaking the ratios until it was just right - smooth, sweet, chocolatey, and creamy without being overly rich.
The first time I handed it to my kids, I fully expected them to take a polite sip and ask for something sweeter. Instead, they downed their glasses... and asked for more.
What surprised me most was what happened after that. It quickly became more than just something to serve alongside cookies. Now they ask for it in the afternoons all on its own.
No dessert needed. No special occasion.
Just a simple glass of homemade goat milk chocolate milk that feels like a treat all by itself.
And honestly, that is exactly what I was hoping for.
It satisfies that little craving for something sweet and comforting, but because it is made with nourishing ingredients like farm fresh goat milk, pure Nebraska maple syrup, quality cocoa, and homemade vanilla... it is a treat I can happily say yes to!
As a parent, there is something really special about finding those recipes that feel indulgent to your kids but still align with the way you want to feed your family.
This homemade goat milk chocolate milk has become one of those recipes for us.
Simple. Wholesome. Kid-approved.
And one of those little everyday favorites that somehow turns an ordinary afternoon into something just a little sweeter.
I hope your kids love it as much as ours do!
